Recycle & Create Art For Aged Care at Where You Are Festival 2020

On Saturday, I ran an Art For Aged Care workshop at The National Arboretum in Canberra. This was part of the Where You Are Festival presented by the ACT Government. It was great to sit down with a small group of kids and families from the community and create art together!

It was a cold and foggy morning at the Arboretum. They have a lovely meeting space called The Terrace Room and it's heated, thank goodness! It's a gorgeous space that looks out onto the Margaret Whitlam Pavillion, which you can see in the background of this photo.

We spent about an hour creating stuff with glue, paint, textas and glitter. I saw a dog made out of boxes, an elaborate ship with delicate tissue paper sails, a very realistic recreation of a Qantas 747 and this amazing rocketship with colourful feathered flame ignition boosters!

The children and I hope that these pics brighten the hearts of our Aged Care residents.
